The newly launched Honda BR-V revives a good response in the market. Since it launch last month(5 May 2016) the bookings crossed over 10,000. BR-V is the first compact SUV in from Honda. BR-V is available in both diesel and petrol variants which helps to increase the booking.
The petrol engine comes same of Honda City, 1.5-liter i-VTEC. It is rated at 117 bhp and 145Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes with a newly developed 6 speed manual transmission. It is rated at an ARAI certified 16 km/l.The same engine can also be had with a CVT option.
The diesel engine is usual 1.5 litre i-DTEC motor found in the Amaze, Jass and Mobilio. The diesel engine comes with a power of 98.6 bhp and 200 nm of torque. The diesel variant comes with a 5 speed manual transmission.
Speaking on the performance of BR-V, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The recently launched Honda BR-V has received a good consumer response with over 10,000 bookings since launch. BR-V has amassed strong interest from both young and middle aged customers. We are confident that it will attract more customers with its strong desirable values.” As per current demand, BR-V has witnessed equal consumer preference in petrol and diesel variants. The new warranty policy of 3 year unlimited km warranty for BR-V has been very positively accepted and is one of the driving forces for good acceptance of BR-V in the market,”
