The Toyota India got a large number of bookings for the Innova Crysta. The Diesel variant of Innova Crysta has launched in the first week of May. With in a month the bookings was crossed 15,000. But the Diesel ban affected the booking of Innova diesel vehicles and the registration of new diesel vehicles with a displacement of 2000cc and above vehicles are ban in Delhi. It affect the sales of Innova in Delhi and some other states.
The Toyota plans to escape from diesel ban by launching petrol variant Innova Crysta. As per the reports the all new Innova Crysta will launch by Diwali. The 2.7 litre petrol engine is being developed in Japan.
If the reports are true, the Toyota will starts the production of Innova Crysta petrol engines from July 18 2016. The 2.7 litre four cylinder mill with dual VVT-i technology is said to produce a maximum power output of 164 hp while the peak torque will be rated at 245 Nm. This engine is likely to be launched with a 6 speed manual transmission initially while an automatic transmission variant could be introduced later.
