Mahindra KUV100 is the new entry to the compact hatchback sigment by Mahindra. Mahindra Built the KUV100 on a new platform. The KUV100 is a SVU with the hatchbacks with larger dimensions.
Mahindra KUV100 has a similar design from XUV500. The tall design gets a high bonnet. The headlamps are slim. The daytime running lights with the headlamps increase the beauty of the KUV100. The ground clearance is 170mm and it comes with a 14-inch wheels. The car looks a bit smaller from behind because of the slope roof towards the back. The rear door handle was mounted at the window just like Chevrolet Beat.
The KUV100 gives enough headroom for the front and rear passengers. In between the driver and the front passanger, a sixth seat is available with a lap belt for safety. The gear lever is mounded on the dashboard to provide leg space for the middle passanger. The interior of all KUV100 except the top-end version comes with grey colour and the top-end version comes with black interior. Along with steering mounded controls, the Bluetooth and USB connectivity is available with a four-speaker music system.
The KUV100 comes with two engine options. The Petrol mFalcon G80 and the diesel mFalcon D75. The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine develops 82bhp of power at 5500rpm and 114Nm of torque while the 1.2-turbocharged litre diesel 3-cylinder engine will deliver 77bhp of power at 3725rpm and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a five-speed transmission and may get an AMT option in future. The G80 engine is a micro-hybrid with start-stop technology while the diesel D75 gets driving modes like Eco and Power.
The KUV comes with a price tag of Rs. 4.42 lakh for the base petrol varient and Rs 5.22 lakh for the base diesel variant.
