CEAT Tyres introduced a new tyre to the Indian market. The new tyre comes with an all new facility that it is a puncture-safe tyres. Now the tyre is introduced only for motorcycles. The tyres are first coming to South India. Beginning with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the tyre will comes to all over in India.
The all new Puncture-safe tyres is developed at its research and development centre at Halol in Gujarat. The tyre will available as an after-market fitment for motorcycles. The Puncture-safe tyres comes with a layer of gum like
substance (gel) which will acts as a sealant material in the tread area. The gum will plays a n importent role in sealing the punchered portion by to any sort of penetrating object that causes the puncture. It will helpin preventing the air loss and avoid the need of an immediate repair.

This tyre has a special gel. When a nail pierces the tyre, the gel protects the tyres. Later, when the nail is removed, the gel fills up the space created by the nail”
The company has manufacturing facilities at Bandhup, Nashik, Nagpur and Halol in India and other plants in Sri Lanka to provide for the local market. The plant in Nagpur set up last year has a potential to be ramped up to one million united per month.
The country’s tyre market is estimated at Rs.60,000 crore and is growing at about 6-7%. CEAT closed last year’s sale at Rs. 6,500 crore.
